Courts Case Management (CCM)
Courts Case Management (CCM) is a system of core functions for Courts that covers the majority of a Court’s needs. It is recognised that each individual Court will have unique requirements which would be addressed as add-ons as part of the CCM implementation process. Courts Case Management records all cases/matters/actions filed in the Court. It is designed for use by Supreme, Magistrates or District Courts. It holds details of parties and documents filed , schedules cases for hearings and records results of the cases. The case flow management facility monitors the progress of identified cases against pre-determined timeframes.
The functionality that has been integrated into Courts Case Management includes:
- Tracking case files during the lifetime of the case from the lodgement counter to the hearings, the order processing and archiving of the case files after finalisation
- Support for the data entry of all application types for the Court, within the guidelines of the relevant business rules and procedures set by law
- Monitoring documents for each file
- Scheduling of the files for trial, chamber conference, call over, hearing, deliberation and any other user defined event
- Seamless integration of the Word processing, E-mail and Fax software, automating the Court’s correspondence thus minimising operator errors
- Receipt and disbursement of fees and trust payments, including the integrated use of bar coding and cheque swipe hardware
- Management and exception reports
- Integrated, flexible security facilities
- Comprehensive searching, reporting and enquiry facilities
- Integrated auditing facilities
- Easy-to-use on-line Help facilities
User benefits: The system is Windows compliant, and has the same look and feel as a Court’s word processing software. In fact, the judgments or orders for a file can be viewed with popular word processing software such as Word and WordPerfect. Because CCM has been designed to reflect the day-to-day operations of the courts, and the Courts staff will be familiar with the processes being automated, the learning curve for the user is correspondingly short.
